Beach Town

One of the best parts of living in Salisbury is the great variety of destinations nearby. Of course, we benefit from all the big city living being close to D.C. But we also have a lot of family-friendly vacation destinations within driving distance. This summer, take a trip to one of these beach towns. They’re all less than two hours away!

Ocean City

At just under an hour away, Ocean City is a great place to have a family getaway at the beach. Enjoy the boardwalk with shops, restaurants, and even an arcade. You can even ride a Ferris wheel or play mini golf. It also has easy access to the beach so you can enjoy the sun and the waves. While you’re in town, enjoy the rides at Jolly Roger Amusement Park or check out Ripley’s Believe It or Not! on a rainy day. Grab a bite at local favorites like the Shark on the Harbor or the Sunset Grille. You and your family will have a blast on your Ocean City trip.

Bethany Beach

For a quiet option just over the Delaware line, check out Bethany Beach. Bring your towel and our book to this destination, because Bethany Beach is the perfect place to relax as you look out over the water. A small boardwalk offers a little bit of shopping as well as the public facilities. Take the kids to a quick game of mini golf at Captain Jack’s Pirate Golf, pick out a new beach read at Bethany Beach Books, or rent a new way to get around town at Bethany Bike Shop. Not only can you get a bike, but you can also rent helmets, locks, baskets, and more. Head to Bethany Beach with your crew for a quiet getaway.

Rehoboth Beach

When you visit Rehoboth Beach, there’s something for everyone. With public parking and a beautiful boardwalk, the beach is easily accessible no matter where you stay. You can get some shopping done during your trip at the Tanger Outlets. Enjoy a beautiful bike ride on the Junction and Breakwater Trail. Or experience a fun family business that’s been around since 1962 at Funland. Don’t miss out on your chance to paddleboard or kayak in the Atlantic! Rehoboth Beach may be a little farther from Salisbury, but it’s definitely worth the trip.
