Kitchen Organization Tips
Spring has sprung! You know what that means, spring cleaning. It can seem like a daunting task but step by step, it gets done. I think the easiest way is to start in the heart of a home, the kitchen. Here are easy hacks to declutter and organize your kitchen.
Organize your Pantry
This may seem silly because who is going to see your pantry, right, but opening the door and seeing a variety of boxes, not being able to find that one ingredient, or opening a stale box of cereal gets frustrating. Start by getting a few larger baskets that either match or color coordinate for kid’s snacks, napkins, cooking oils, etc. I love using plastic or glass clear containers for pasta, cereal, and baking goods. It looks aesthetically pleasing but also keeps things fresh. For can goods, you could put them in a basket or get a cheap can organizer to store them in. There’s a bunch of different ways, make it unique to you and your family.
Clean the Microwave and Stove
Most people forget about cleaning the inside and outside of their microwave but it can get messy in there. Take a sponge and scrub it down. Get those watermarks you’ve been ignoring on the stove off. Baking soda and vinegar can do the trick. If you have a gas or electric stove, take off the coils and scrub under there too. This will only take a couple of minutes.
Declutter the Junk Drawer
We all have one whether you admit it or not. Take a couple of minutes and throw out that miscellaneous posted, toss the pens that are out of ink, and put the spare house key in a safe spot. Once you’ve got it decluttered with the necessities, grab an inexpensive organizer to put in there.
